Epsiode 44 - "The drugs are great, but you are better"

Relive the embarrassment of terrible quotes and choosing the wrong record for a calm moment. Relive attempts at adulthood. Relive the pre-internet era. Relive Little Fernwood on a Saturday night in 1998. Also, prepare yourself for full-on calypso episodes (yes! I keep my calypso records in a separate pile).

Episode 43 - One foot in front of the other.

This episode is pretty uninspired and only about 40 minutes long. I enjoyed blasting Talulah Gosh in the studio, but mostly felt distracted by the mediocrity of the stories/my life. Has this project become over-run with self-deprecation?

In other completeist news, I've begun writing about every film that ever won the Palme D'or or Grand Prix at the Cannes film festival. I've almost seen them all. Follow the madness here: http://grandprixpalmedor.tumblr.com/

Episode 42 - I hate Berlin.

On what can only be described as a "TERRIBLE DAY" I somehow managed to drag myself into the studio to expose the agony and the ecstasy (my words) of my life. Begin with the epic and cathartic 'Notorious Lightning', which drags my carcass across a full 6 years of doubtful existence. Follow that with the death-knell of Chet, a Taiwanese pressing of The Guess Who found while wandering the hot city of depression, Colin Blunstone's ethereal "Misty Roses", a rare Mutantes track that couldn't even get me the love I need and finish it all off with a side-long High Places 'bleak drone' iced with the elusive hope singing of Mary Pearson.

Episode 41 -

This Is probably the most consistently great episode, as far as music goes, starting with the UNSTOPPABLE Bay City Rollers (a band still rejected by the same so-called 'populist' internet movement that has pushed the Doobies Brothers, Steely Dan & ABBA from the trash into the acceptable indie-elitist lexicon). I also fail to mention that someone took a picture of me with my pants down on the infamous buy-all-Bay-City-Rollers day.

Episode 40 - Danced On

For the first time in my life, I am a real Disc Jockey. I scratch. I mix. I rock. I do a horrible job of just making the songs the proper volume. Apologies if you listened to the unedited 'real time' broadcast of this. Actually, apologies for the mixing as well. It is absolutely terrible.
