Episode 48 - 1981: The Peak of Calypso-Disco

I guess I just need to remind myself that the whole idea behind this was firstly to FORCE myself to listen to all my records over again, one hour per week at a time. I forget that forcing yourself to do anything is discouraging and consequently, get discouraged. Secondly, I'm using this show as a way of cataloging my collection for an insurance agent in the case of fire, flood, earthquake, etc, so it's not like I'm getting NOTHING done.

Episode 47 - Visceral

This is yet another fairly negative episode. Is it the pervasive hopeless nature of life that brings such a meager attempt at narration to the microphone, or is it just the fact that I can't imagine ANYONE ever actually listening to this mess. This whole thing has become an un-curated nightmare.

Episode 46 - WARNING!

This is possibly one of the most difficult to listen to episode yet! Firstly, 90% of the show is calypso, including one blistering 9 minute live steel drum track from 1984. Secondly, my heart's not in it. I'm just re-listening to it now and I think even iTunes is becoming discouraged. Bleak.

Episode 45 - College Radio

More than a few college radio moments here, as I try to put in to words my feelings about the Boyish Charms and The Blankket (the people, not their bands). Imagine how could this show could be if I actually prepared! I also ran into some serious trouble when I realized I have no idea how to read and announce any of the Greek tracks that will be pervasive over the next few episodes.
